Source Chatter

Hi everyone, this is the first thread for the Geek Source. Please post thoughts, comments, questions, screenshots, etc. in here. We will be attending to these forums now instead of the IGG pages due to ease of use for both LHL and backers.

Same rules as before: professional-esque discussion over the campaign and LHL is welcome. Personal attacks will not be tolerated and will be deleted. Profanity: try to keep it PG, please.

There is no "quote" function on the forum but I am working with Freshdesk support to see if there is a workaround. But this will be infinitely better than the old system at IGG where there was no ability to edit posts, a character count, no way to post screens, etc.

We look forward to hearing from you around the forums!

Full pics of the Source. There are some screws missing and since I know certain people will ask if the screws will be missing when they receive that unit, no, your units will ship with all screws included.

The gold feet got a very bad response, so they switched to shorter silver feet which were not installed for the picture.

Also, note this the SE version, so the regular units won't have the red color, LH logo or diamond shape on the sides.

Really is unfortunate the downward turn this has taken. I have been in this since 2014, back then we brainstormed with Larry on a regular basis via the LH forum on product development ideas. This was before the marketing/perk machine took over and ultimately lead to the demise of Larry's good intentions. I have contacted IGG and LHL support regarding my refund request. I am well past the point of actually wanting product, it is not even what I funded anymore. Basically LHL has had a 3.5 year interest free loan and I would like my principal back. I really only believe we have 3 recourses here: 1). Continue to contact IGG daily and reinforce that LHL is in breach of their Terms of Use and more recently is not performing the monthly updates per IGG. They maybe the only entity with the power to force LHL to do the right thing. 2). Wait endlessly till something shows up, whatever version it happens to be. And not likely what we originally committed to (remember the octagon case for the Source?)

Options 1 and 3 means the majority of us would receive little to none of our money back.

I'll take option 2 as it's the only real option.

#1 is a dead end from my point of view. IGG support responded to me that the backers should request status updates as well as discussing a possible refund with the campaigner directly. They don't do anything because the campaign is already "in demand" status. #2 would play directly in Larry cards. He doesn't need to change his current behavior at all and continues as he is used to do. Don't like this (dishonest) attitude at all hence I would vote for #3 to get Larry's attention. Question is if there is really somebody who is willing to find this. I'm at a point where I would appreciate to get a clear statement that all campaigns failed instead of the endless waiting situation.
Edit: Question is if there is really somebody who is willing to do this.

@Shawn when you receive your Source SE, will you please post pics for the group? Thanks.

Gladly. Now hurry up and ship it :)

@Jarek: There are already "full" pics of the Source SE in this thread. So tell us something g new. Maybe updated development- and specs charts? Or some more info about the iOS app (based on the Dec 8, 2015 development chart it was 50% completed).

Just want pics reassuring everyone they actually do exist and are reaching customers. If I get any more info, I'll post it.

I would also like to see photos of units in some backers home, rather than in a warehouse. Jarek, do you know where the two units that were shipped out already went to? Both to the US or to other countries?
So basically we are supposed to be happy that 2 SE units have shipped, a product announced about a year ago whereas those backers like myself who backed the Source 3.5 years ago sit and wait. I’m guessing I’ll probably be able to purchase one from Amazon or the Asian market before us original backers receive anything. Along those lines per IGG Terms of Use where is our monthly update?

@Chris they shipped to Japan.

Please full refund to all backers ASAP.

It is because:

1. no timeline for all products delivery;

2. the source changed the chassis which is completely not matching with Vi dac and Pulse

2. the Vi Tube dac still have some problems until now, Larry still can not fix it, even you received the Vi Dac, it can not work properly;

3. no CCX production and no timeline for delivery

4. the CS is rubbish, can not answer the questions;

5. wasting our time and money for the undeliverable products.

Important News: We fully expect to ship out the Source SE within the next 20 days and we will post pictures when they ship. "

It's been 69 days according to my quick check. A bit more than the fully expected 20....

Source SE Shipping Photos

We started shipping on time and have pictures!

now 70 days after latest ship plan, and the boards arrived.

How long does it take to assemble 25 units?

It's been a lot longer than a month since Source backers have had a real update on progress, both for SE backers as well as those of us who didn't pony up for the SE version.  We're entitled to this information, so please provide it.

It goes beyond what we are entitled too, the often cited IGG terms of agreement (at least we when discuss refunds) now clearly states that we will be provided monthly updates on all campaign items.
